Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)
Sabrina Toubal
Sabrina is a Speech and Language Therapist who works with students at Saffron Valley Collegiate every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Sabrina works with young people to identify undiagnosed speech, language and communication needs that often impact a young person’s understanding, ability to express themselves, emotional literacy/regulation, verbal and non-verbal communication. Many young people with undiagnosed Speech and Language needs communicate through behaviour, which can lead to exclusions or difficulties attending school. She facilitates interventions for students with a range of needs to support their language and communication. A referral is often made to Sabrina to conduct initial assessments to identify and diagnose Speech and Language needs and provide appropriate recommendations to support their access to learning. Sabrina also collaborates with teaching staff, the SENCO, Parents/Carers and other professionals. Sabrina can also support applications for EHCPs (Education Health Care Plans) and ensure the appropriate provision is recommended.
