Welcome to Saffron Valley Collegiate KS4 South

We are a specialist Key Stage 4 alternative provision based in the heart of Croydon, dedicated to supporting young people who need additional help to thrive in their education and personal development as they approach this critical stage of their educational journey.

Our ultimate goal is simple: to help every young person who attends Saffron Valley Collegiate overcome the barriers they face and successfully progress towards their next steps, whether that's further education, training or employment. We achieve this by providing a nurturing, structured environment where students can be ready for their future, be respectful to themselves and others, and be safe in every aspect of their school experience.

    Supporting Permanently Excluded Students

We support permanently excluded students by offering a safe, supportive and structured educational environment. Our goal is to help them re-engage with learning, rebuild their confidence and create positive pathways for their future, including working towards qualifications and post-16 opportunities.

Through our approach, students learn to be ready for the challenges and opportunities of adulthood, be respectful in their interactions with peers, staff and the wider community, and be safe as they make important decisions about their future.

    12-Week Intervention Programme

Our 12-week intervention programme offers targeted short-term placements for Key Stage 4 students who are finding it challenging to manage their behaviour or learning in mainstream schools. Through intensive support and personalised strategies, we equip them with the tools they need to be ready to return to mainstream education, be respectful in all settings, and be safe in managing their emotions and choices.

This programme helps students successfully return to and complete their GCSEs in mainstream education with renewed confidence and skills.

    Dedicated Taskforce Support

Every student at Saffron Valley Collegiate has access to our dedicated Taskforce professionals a multidisciplinary team that includes educational psychologists, mental health specialists, speech and language therapists, youth workers, family workers, post-16 workers and pastoral support staff. They provide:

    • Comprehensive assessments to identify individual needs and ensure students are ready for personalised support and their next steps
    • Therapeutic interventions tailored to support emotional wellbeing and personal development in a safe environment
    • Ongoing specialist support to facilitate successful progression, helping students be respectful of their own journey and that of others
    • Wraparound assessment and intervention across all areas of need, with a particular focus on transition planning and post-16 pathways

Our Belief in Every Young Person

At Saffron Valley Collegiate, we don't just focus on what's gone wrong – we focus on what's possible. We believe in second chances, fresh starts and the potential in every young person to achieve their goals and build a positive future.

By embedding our core values of be ready, be respectful, be safe into everything we do, we create an environment where young people can rebuild, grow and succeed as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
