SVC East accepts referrals for Secondary students who, due to medical needs and/or anxiety, are currently unable to access education. It is suitable for a young person who, due to issues such as anxiety and/or low mood is unable to access mainstream education, but who is ready and able to access class sizes of approximately 10 students (with or without support).  Students attend full time (9.15am- 2.45pm) on-site and follow a GCSE and Functional Skills based curriculum.  We also offer an online timetable for students who are unable to access the building.

Please note that we are not a Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and therefore cannot be named as the designated setting for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

We are able to offer 12 week intervention places in small class sizes, with packages of intervention support tailored to individual needs. The aim of an intervention place is to identify the underlying reasons for non-attendance and provide support for the young person to return to school. We also work with students who have a medical diagnosis which prevents them from attending school. If a student is referred due to a medical diagnosis which prevents them attending school, we require evidence both of the diagnosis and its impact on education, as outlined on our referral form.

Referrals should come directly from schools using the referral form on our website and it is important that the pupil’s voice is included.  Each referral is discussed at a monthly panel meeting – see dates below:
