Wayne Lindsay

Hello, my name is Wayne, and I am the Family Support Worker on the Taskforce.
I work as an advocate for young people and their families, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their rights are respected in every setting. My role is to empower individuals by fostering positive relationships and supporting their overall wellbeing. I do this by working closely with families, our on-site mentors, and other professionals, offering practical guidance, advocacy, and connecting people with valuable community resources.
Across our collegiate sites, we have dedicated mentors who provide day-to-day support for young people. I work alongside them to ensure a consistent, joined-up approach that best meets the needs of each individual and their family.
I provide and promote emotional support, encourage self-care, and offer practical assistance tailored to each family’s needs. Working collaboratively with families, mentors, and professionals, I help to identify strengths, understand challenges, and assess individual needs. Together, we set achievable goals, develop clear action plans, and identify the most appropriate support strategies.
My support may also include helping families access services such as healthcare, housing, childcare, counselling, financial assistance, and educational programmes ensuring they receive the right help at the right time.
I am committed to ongoing professional development, continually learning about best practices and emerging approaches in family support to provide the highest quality of care and guidance.
If you see me around the provisions, please feel free to say hello.
