Hello! We are the Speech and Language Therapists that work at Saffron Valley Collegiate across the 4 provisions.

Maisy works on a Wednesday and Friday and Richard works every Monday.

We aim to work with students to identify undiagnosed speech, language and communication needs that can impact a student’s understanding, ability to express themselves, emotional literacy/regulation, verbal and non-verbal communication.

A referral is made to complete an initial assessment to identify and diagnose speech and language needs to then provide appropriate recommendations to support their access to learning.

We collaborate with teaching staff, the SENCO, Parents/Carers, Taskforce professionals and other professional networks.

Our role can also include supporting applications for EHCPs (Education Health Care Plans) and ensure that appropriate provision is recommended to support individual needs.
